The Roadtrek is my second mobile office. I saw the MO-V at NAR National
Convention in 1994. At the time the MO-V only had two passenger seats. (The MO-V has now
been retooled with more seats.) I needed more seating and decided to make my own mobile office. I bought a raised roof Plymouth Voyager
Mark III. The outside looked like LandJet. I had four seats but it was wanting in so many
ways. My power system never worked right. I was always nervous about how my desk and chair
would hold in an accident. The MO-V and LandJet are engineered to survive impact. LandJet
says all 5 seats are crash tested.
Marys Mobile Office II had two main priorities. I wanted a good
power system and I wanted heat. Hint, if you make your own mobile office, RV
people are the ones who understand vehicle power needs.
A small RV was the only product I found that included a heat plant (for
$4500 LandJet will provide heat and A/C). I want heat for winter open houses on
vacant homes. I looked at dozens on the web. The Roadtrek is 17 long, only a foot
longer than the Plymouth Voyager.
What I like best about my MOII:
Ability to stand up in hallway is so
nice I don't think you would appreciate it unless you had it.
I use my microwave a lot.
Power system has NEVER failed.
I change clothes in the van a lot.
I use the propane heater a lot.
Children often watch videos on the VCR.
I can sleep in it for weekend getaways
and still check new listings and email.
Sitting open houses in the van is
nearly as comfortable as sitting in my living room.
There is space to keep EVERYTHING I
need.
What I like least:
I would like a MO-V or LandJet
permanent type desk setup. Yet my table once raised is more of conference table than a
desk which is great for getting signatures
Turn radius is cumbersome; peripheral
vision limited.
I really need 4 chairs within earshot.
Chaining up in these big tires in snow
was a bugger until I got my Spider chains.
I don't fit in drive-through car
washes. I don't fit in most underground parking garages.
