Where we find buyers

Most of us have systems like our MLS, newsletters, the Internet, referral systems etc, to insure we have an ongoing supply of buyers.

The smart Realtor directs a large share of their marketing materials to other agents. While our MLS accomplishes much of this task for me, brochures, brokers open houses and a cooperative reputation are other methods.

Because I have training in the advertising field all of my marketing materials are more effective than the national statistics illustrated in the chart.

You can help here by being friendly and cooperative with other agents. Most sales are not between antagonists and are a pleasant experience for both buyer and seller.

A sale should begin with mutual respect and understanding that we all have a common goal and will catch more flies with honey.

To ensure maximum exposure for my sellers, the listing is posted with the NWMLS often within hours of signatures.

An agent may be on-line now looking to match a buyer with a seller. Time is of the essence.

  • In their search for a home, buyers consult a variety of information sources to learn about the marketplace. Real estate agents continued to be the most important information source in 1997, with more than eight out of ten successful home buyers (82 percent) using a real estate agent as a source of housing market information in their home search.
  • In addition to personally contacting real estate professionals, home buyers rely heavily on marketing methods used by real estate professionals. Newspaper ads (51 percent), open houses (39 percent), and "For Sale" signs (38 percent) were all information sources cited by home buyers.
